My ''radio-career' started in 1966 when I joined the Royal Netherlands Navy and became a professional radio-operator.
In 1976 I changed my position and became a civil radio-operator, but still served the Navy.
In 1983, when I was stationed at Curaçao (Netherlands Antilles), I received my Full Ham-license with the call PJ2RV. Soon after I returned to The Netherlands, so that call was never used.
Since 1983 I am active as PA3EEG.
Since my retirement in 2006 I am reasonable active, mostly in cw. A few years ago I started using the digital modes while SSB not my favourite is. However, I must choose between HAM-operation and my other hobby: Dogs.
At this moment we (my xyl and myself) have one Saarlooswolfdog.
I visited many dog-shows (exhibitions) with one of the dogs, passed away a couple of years ago, and nowadays I often act as chief ringsteward at dog-shows. I am also webmaster for Dutch Association of Show Judges.
