As I wrote before, at this moment, we have one Saarlooswolfdog.
In 1935, mr. Leendert Saarloos, started creating this breed with a German Shepherd Dog and a Wolf Bitch. Soon he called this creation "European Wolfdog". He used the last Wolf Bitch in 1962.
Finally the breed was recognized by the Dutch Kennel Club in 1975 and was given the name "Saarlooswolfhond".
The average age of this breed is 12 till 14 years, however dogs of 15 years of age are no exception.
